The purpose of this article is to highlight what the Bible says about sicknesses and God's healing power, so that we will pray the prayer of faith, knowing that in the Name of Jesus we will receive what we are asking for. The only way to renew our minds is by the Word of God. As we change our way of thinking, we are transformed, becoming more and more of what God created us to be and living our lives ruled by the Holy Spirit and not by our carnal nature.
God gave us His Word, so that we may truly know Him and learn to follow Him. The Bibles shows us what He likes and dislikes; what is good and beneficial versus what is bad and harmful. The Bible is the most perfect and detailed model for us to follow. There we find the best counseling as it represents the wisdom and knowledge of God that was inspired by the Holy Spirit to whose who wrote it. If we have no idea about the treasures hidden in the Bible, we can not get all that God has in store for us. How can we ask for or want something that we do not know exists? Personalizing and paraphrasing the Bible verses that refer to our needs (written in italics in this article) helps to strengthen our faith and gives the Holy Spirit the opportunity to make them become more "alive and powerful" (Hebrews 4:12) working in our lives. In this way, the “spiritual blessings of the heavenly places” (Ephesians 1:3), will become real for us in the natural. This spiritual principle is true in all the areas of our lives, including when we need physical, spiritual or emotional healing.
When we pray for healing, sometimes we receive it instantly as the Holy Spirit performs a miracle for us. Other times, it may take a while until we are totally healed, in which case, the healing process may occur as we grow in understanding in our spirits of how much God loves and values us. Our heavenly Father's love for us is beyond measure and is always constant, never changing irregardless of our successes or failures. The more we study God's promises for us, the more real they become. Then we may say as John: “And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him” (1 John 5:15).
For those who want to fight in prayer for healing, here are 60 proclamations of paraphrased Bible verses that can be included in your prayers. Because they are prayers based on God's Word, we know they are in accordance with His will. The original Hebrew or Greek words whose explanations help clarify the meaning of the verse, are translated according to the “NAS Exhaustive Concordance” and “Strong's Concordance.” Explanations are added in parentheses.
The words that God spoke to Joshua, are also true for us:
Joshua 1:7-8 “Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
If we personalize these verses as the following, we may pray and declare:
Dear Lord, please help me choose to be strong and courageous, to carefully obey all that You tell me to do. Help me not turn to the right or the left from the directions given in the Bible, so that I may prosper in all that I do. Please help me to continuously meditate on Your Word so that I can live accordingly, so that You will make my way prosperous, and be successful in all I do, including receiving the healing I am praying for, in the Name of Jesus, amen.
2. Only by hearing the Word of God can we have faith. Whenever we hear our own voices speaking God's Word, we believe it more deeply. As we declare the Bible verses that apply to our situations, they will become more and more real to us and begin to renew our minds, transforming us.
Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
My faith comes by hearing the Word of God. I will declare the Bible verses about healing to build my faith and be healed.
3. Faith considers real what cannot be seen and is already done by the Lord in the spiritual world.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Faith is the assurance of the things hoped for, being the proof of what is not seen and the belief that they are real. My belief considers what I am praying for to be real, something I cannot yet perceive through my physical senses, including the healing I need.
4. Without faith it is impossible to please God.
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
To please God, I have to believe in Him and what He is willing and able to do for me, which includes healing me. The more I believe in the Lord and in His rewards for me, the more diligently I desire to seek and please Him.
5. Faith can move mountains of problems, including the sicknesses we fight against.
Mark 11:23-24 (BSB) “Truly I tell you that if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and has no doubt in his heart but believes that it will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
If I say to this “mountain” of (name of your sickness or problem) _____ be removed and be cast into the sea, and I do not doubt in my heart, but I believe that what I am declaring will be done, I will have it. I will continue to pray for my healing, believing that I have already received what I prayed for, and I will have it.
6. Let us declare the wonderful attributes of God. If we know without a doubt that God is full of compassion and mercy, that He is faithful in fulfilling His promises, that His patience and His goodness are so great, we will have a firm base for believing that we will receive the healing we need.
Psalms 86:15 (BSB) But You, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion and faithfulness.
Dear Lord, because You are compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion and faithfulness, I know that You will heal, strengthen, and help me to be victorious through all the hardships I am facing. In the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.
7. God did not even spare His own Son for us, so we can believe that He wants to give us everything we need, including healing.
Romans 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
Thank You Lord for not even sparing Your own Son for us, this is why I know that You will freely give me all things, including the healing that I need. Glory to Your holy Name, amen.
8. God fulfills what He promises.
Romans 4:17-21 (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed--God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.” And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.
God speaks to the things that do not exist, that He promised will be, as though they are, and He brings them into existence. I choose to believe as Abraham did, that what God promised, He will do because He is willing and able to perform. I will not focus on the sickness, and I will not allow doubt to settle in, but I will focus and meditate on what the Bible says that Jesus did for me, when He took all the sicknesses upon His body on the cross, including the one I am fighting against. In Jesus I am healed.
9. God heals and blesses all those who live to please Him.
Exodus 23:25-26 “So you shall serve (“abad,” meaning in strict spiritual use “to perform acts of worship in total obedience to God, that lead to a new lifestyle, where God is one's true Lord and no longer one's ‘self.’”) the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.”
Thank You Father God that if I worship You in total obedience and You are my true Lord, You will bless my food, take care of me and remove sicknesses from my body. I will not die prematurely, because You will hold me till the end, in the Name of Jesus, amen.
10. God’s promises are true.
2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.
Thank You Lord that all Your promises are true including the ones about healing and I know they will come to pass for me and to Your glory! Amen.
11. Jesus healed us of whatever afflicts us physically, mentally, or emotionally by the wounds He received upon His body from torture and crucifixion. We can personalize these verses by naming the sickness or whatever is causing us to suffer. If our Lord bore our sicknesses and healed them, we no longer need to bear them. We put our trust in what He has already done, and we believe for our healing until we receive it, unless the Holy Spirit reveals something else specific to our case.
Isaiah 53:4-5 Surely He has borne our griefs (“choli” means “grief, affliction, disease, illness, sickness, malady, anxiety, calamity”) and carried our sorrows (“makob” means “sorrow, pain, suffering, anguish”); yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.
Thank You Jesus for taking upon Yourself all my griefs, afflictions, diseases, illnesses, sicknesses, maladies, anxieties, calamities, and carrying my sorrows, pains, sufferings, anguish, including (name your specific need) ________. By Your stripes I am healed, and I have true peace in You because You paid the price for my sins. Praises and honor to Your holy Name, dear Lord!
12. Through Jesus’ sacrifice we received forgiveness for our sins and healing for all sicknesses. The apostle Peter wrote that “we were healed” after the Lord's sacrifice was fulfilled. Jesus acquired everything needed for our healing, and through faith, we bring into the physical world what has already been accomplished in the spiritual world.
1 Peter 2:24 ... who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness--by whose stripes you were healed.
Thank You Jesus for bearing my sins in Your own body, on the tree. Because of You I am dead to sin, and I can live a clean life for You. By Your stripes, my Lord, I was healed. Amen.
13. They who do the will of God are blessed and healthy.
Psalms 1:1-3 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.
Thank You Lord that because I delight in the Law of the Lord and not in what is ungodly, I am blessed. If I delight in meditating on Your Word daily, I am like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaves do not wither. In You Lord I have good health and will prosper in whatever I do.
14. In the Name of Jesus, we can bind the power of the devil who is the source and author of evil and all sickness, and we can loose heavenly blessings, which include physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual healing and restoration.
Matthew 16:19 “And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Luke 17:21b “For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”
God has given me the keys of the kingdom of heaven and whatever I bind on earth, will be bound in heaven and whatever I loose on earth, will be loosed in heaven. And since sickness does not exist in heaven and is already bound there, I bind ______ (name the sickness) in the Name of Jesus from my body, because the Word of God is true, and His kingdom is in my heart!
15. Let us pay attention to the Word of God, through which we receive all that is good, including healing.
Proverbs 4:20-22 My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.
Thank You Lord that when I incline my ear to give attention to Your Words, I do not let them depart from my eyes; and I keep them in my heart, they heal me, because they are life and health to all my body, amen.
16. God can do for us as much as we allow the Holy Spirit to do, and His power is unlimited.
Ephesians 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us...
Thank You Lord for Your Holy Spirit who is in me and able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that I can ask or think. Please help me not to limit the power of the Holy Spirit so that You may do all You want, including to heal and fully restore my health, in the Name of Jesus, amen.
17. Through Jesus we are the righteousness of God.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Thank You Jesus that in You I am the righteousness of God, because You paid the price for all my sins, so that I can dare ask my heavenly Father to heal me.
18. The weapon of sickness and every other weapon of the enemy will not prosper against those who trust in the Lord.
Isaiah 54:17a “No weapon formed against you shall prosper...”
Thank You heavenly Father that because Jesus is my Lord, no weapon formed against me shall prosper. Sickness is a weapon that the enemy formed against me and in Jesus’ Name it cannot defeat me, amen.
19. Jesus came to give us abundant life.
John 10:10b “... I [Jesus] have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
Sickness is trying to steal my health and destroy me. Thank You Jesus that in Your Name I can fight against sickness and have life and life more abundantly.
20. Because Jesus is our Lord, we have the right to act in His Name against everything related to the power of the enemy! Hallelujah! This means that we have authority over any sickness that comes against us!
Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt (“adikeó,” means “to hurt, damage, harm”) you.”
Thank You Jesus for the authority I have in Your Name to act against every sickness and attack of the devil, so that nothing can hurt, damage or harm me, amen.
21. In the Name of Jesus we have authority over every sickness. It is up to us to know this and act upon what we have, fighting any illness and not giving up until we are cured.
Philippians 2:9-10 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him [Jesus] and given Him the Name which is above every name, that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth.
John 14:23b “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.”
My Lord, because I love You and keep Your Word; I know that Father God also loves me and both of You live in my heart. Father God You highly exalted Jesus and gave Him the Name above all names, including over ____ (name the sickness). In the Name of Jesus, sickness you must go. You have no place in me, and I will keep fighting against you in the Name of Jesus, until I am made whole. Amen.
22. We receive what we ask for in the Name of Jesus, to have full joy.
John 16:23b-24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”
Father God, I am asking You in the Name of Jesus to strengthen my faith to receive the healing that Jesus accomplished for me on the cross. Thank You that I will receive what I ask for, be made whole, and my joy will be full, just as the Lord said. Amen.
23. Through the Holy Spirit we have all we need for a dynamic spiritual life.
2 Peter 1:3-4 As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Thank You Lord for giving me Your power and all I need to have a dynamic spiritual life and godliness, a healthy body, and a sound mind. Through the true and personal knowledge of Your Son who called us by His own glory and excellence, I have Your precious and magnificent promises, by which I am able to escape the corruption of this world and become a sharer of Your divine nature, living right for You. This is why I have an abundant life and I will regain complete healing in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
24. Through Jesus we will destroy sickness and every work of the devil.
1 John 3:8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
Sickness is the work of the devil and has no power over me because I live for Jesus and He dwells in me. Sickness _____ (name it) I command you to be destroyed in the Name of Jesus.
25. We are called to bless, and not return evil for evil, that we may inherit God’s blessing, including healing.
1 Peter 3:9 ... not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
I am not returning evil for evil, or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, I respond with blessings. God called me to do so, and He will bless me including with the healing I am praying for.
26. The Word of God bears fruit and will give us peace, health, and prosperity.
Isaiah 55:10-12a “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. For you shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace (“shalom,” meaning “peace, completeness, soundness, prosperity, health”); …”
Because the Word of God is alive, produces fruit and accomplishes God’s will for me, I believe and declare that I will have joy in Him and His Holy Spirit will guide me in joy, peace, completeness, soundness, prosperity, and health.
27. All things are possible with the Lord, by faith and patience.
Mark 9:23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
Hebrews 6:12 ... through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Jesus said that if I believe, all things are possible for me. I believe that healing is mine; Jesus already healed me by His stripes, while He was beaten and crucified. I have faith and patience in the Holy Spirit, and know that I have inherited the promises written in the Bible and they are mine.
28. God has prepared all kinds of spiritual blessings, including healing, for all of us that He has adopted, through our faith in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will...
Psalms 105:37 ... and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.
My Lord God has prepared all spiritual blessings for me, including my healing, in the heavenly places in Christ. Because He loves me, He chose me before the foundation of the world, that I should be holy and without blame, living pure before Him in love. In Christ, I am adopted as a child of God, and will not be feeble or sick.
29. God helps and heals us when we cry out to Him.
Psalms 107:20 He sent His word (“dabar,” meaning in this verse “Word of God, as a divine communication in the form of commandments, prophecy, and words of help to His people”) and healed them and delivered them from their destruction.
The Lord God has sent all the words of the Bible, not only for the Jews, but to all His born-again children adopted into His family through Christ Jesus, to help us in times of need. Through His Word, God has healed me, and He will not let me die until I accomplish the destiny, He has planned for me.
30. Whenever we trust the Lord, He protects, heals, and saves us.
Psalms 91:9-10,16 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling [...] With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation (“yasha” meaning “deliverance, health, helping, saving health, welfare”).
The Lord is just, and He rewards my faith. Because I do not seek protection from people, but from the Lord and I have made the Lord my dwelling place and refuge, in any tough situation no evil shall befall me, and no plague shall come near my dwelling.
31. The Lord protects and saves us from all tribulations, including sickness.
Psalms 27:1,5 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? [...] - For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.
The Lord is my strength, my life, and my salvation. There is none greater than He, so I will not fear anyone, because my Lord is hiding me in His presence. In the Lord I am safe, He is my rock, no matter what I am going through, even if I have to fight against sickness; in the Lord I have the most valuable help and support.
32. God’s love helps us conquer fear.
1 John 4:17a,18a Love has been perfected among us in this [...] There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear.
God's love is perfect and there is no fear in His perfect love, therefore I will not fear. Because Jesus defeated Satan, I have victory in Jesus over all the power of the evil one, including every sickness.
33. Through God we have power, courage, and a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7 (AMP) For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].
Thank You Lord for not giving me a spirit of timidity, cowardice, or fear, but You have given me a spirit of power, of love, of sound judgment and the abilities that empower me to have a calm, well-balanced mind, and self-control. So I can refuse any fear as I trust in my Lord for complete healing and restoration for my body, in the Name of Jesus, amen.
34. Because we obey God, we can stand against the devil and he has to flee.
James 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Dear Lord, because I obey You and submit this situation to You, I can resist the attacks and the lies of the enemy, and I know he has to run from me. Thank You Lord, in the Name of Jesus, amen.
35. Because we trust in the Lord, we have His peace.
Isaiah 26:3-4 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for in YAH, the Lord, is everlasting strength.
The Lord is a strong, eternal rock, I can count on Him. As long as my heart is fully His and I trust in Him, the Lord God will hold me in perfect peace. I will trust my Lord forever, because in Him I have everlasting strength.
36. God has all power needed to save us from every sickness and He rejoices over us with gladness.
Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.
The Lord My God, the Mighty One, is living in me, He will heal and save me from any evil. The Lord will rejoice over me with gladness, He will comfort me with His love, and will rejoice over me with singing.
37. Let us guard our hearts and mouths from all that is evil and deceitful.
1 Peter 3:10 For he who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit.
Dear Lord, please help me to pay attention to the words I speak, including about sickness and my future. Help me not to speak evil or deceit, and not to declare anything that would block my healing. By doing so, I may have a blessed life in a healthy body and see good days. Thank You in the Name of Jesus, amen.
38. Let us watch our words.
Psalms 141:3 Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips.
Lord, please help me guard my mouth so that my speech agrees with what Your Word says and not with the thoughts that come from the devil. Help me choose to speak only words that edify, heal, and bless. Amen.
39. If we learn to be patient, and let patience have its way, we may be complete in every part, including with healthy bodies.
James 1:2-4,12 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete (“holokleros,” meaning “complete in every part, entire, whole, with perfectly healthy bodies”). [...] Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
The various trials that I face, including sickness, test my faith. I rejoice because God will answer my faith with His healing and at the same time, He is teaching me how to be patient and not doubt that He will heal me. By doing so, in Jesus I will be perfect, complete in every part, made whole and will lack nothing; by patience and faith I will endure all life's trials and temptations and I will receive the crown of life which the Lord has for me.
40. Let us not grow weary in doing good, so that we might reap the fruit of our efforts, including healing.
Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Lord please help me “feed upon” Your Word daily and rest in Jesus, so that I will not grow weary while doing good, but reap the fruit of my good works, including the healing of any sickness.
41. The Lord forgives us when we ask Him to and cleanses us of sin.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If I confess my sins, God is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse me from all unrighteousness, including any sin that would be the cause of sickness. After the cause of sickness is removed, the sickness will have to leave, and I will be made whole again.
42. The Lord heals all our diseases and has mercy on us if we choose to bless Him and do His will.
Psalms 103:2-4a Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies...
Because I choose to bless God with all my heart, to keep His commands and to have a thankful heart toward Him, God will forgive my iniquities, He will heal all my sicknesses, He will redeem my life from destruction, and He will crown me with His loving kindness and tender mercies.
43. The will of God for all His children is to be healthy and blessed.
Deuteronomy 7:14-15aYou shall be blessed above all peoples; there shall not be a male or female barren among you or among your livestock. And the Lord will take away from you all sickness, and will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of Egypt which you have known...”
Because I am God's child, and I am one of His people, I will have greater blessings than any other people and God will remove any sickness from me, including infertility.
44. Because the Holy Spirit indwells all born-again Christians, He will give life to our physical bodies, just as He raised Jesus from the dead.
Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
Thank You Lord that Your Spirit through whom You raised Jesus from the dead, dwells in me. Therefore I believe that You will give me life also, healing and restoring my mortal body, through Your Spirit who lives in me. Praises and honor to Your holy Name, amen.
45. Because we love Jesus more than our own lives, and we confess Him, through Jesus we have defeated the devil and every disease that he brought on us.
Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
I have overcome the enemy and the sicknesses he attacked me with, by the blood of Jesus, by the word of my testimony about Jesus and by not loving my life to the death. Every time I take Communion, I confess the sacrifice of Jesus and I break the power of sickness over my body which results into an ongoing healing process.
46. Whenever we do God’s will, He blesses us with all the good things we need, including healing.
Psalms 84:11b … the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
Dear Lord, You give me Your grace and Your glory. Please help me to live right for You so that I may receive all the good things I need, including my healing. In the Name of Jesus, amen.
47. Jesus who lives in our hearts is greater than the evil one who is in the world.
1 John 4:4 ... He [Jesus] who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
Because Jesus Christ, who dwells in me is greater than he who is in the world and is the author of sickness, I know that I am healed in the Name of Jesus.
48. If we forgive, we are forgiven, and we will be healed.
Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
I choose to forgive people for their wrongs against me and I refuse to keep records against them or have hard feelings. Therefore, my heavenly Father can forgive me too. If I don't forgive others, my heavenly Father cannot forgive me, I will not receive my healing and also miss heaven.
49. If we trust in the Lord, we are strengthened, restored, healed and we will not become weary.
Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
Because I trust in God, my strength is being renewed, I will rise above this situation like an eagle; I will run and not be weary, I will have the strength to do all that I need to do and not become exhausted. Being sick makes me weak, but by faith in the Lord, I will receive healing, strength, and endurance.
50. Because we believe in Jesus, we are blessed.
John 20:29 Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
I am blessed because I believe before I see it! Because I choose to believe that I will be healed, before having the physical signs of my healing, I will be made whole again.
51. If we believe that the Lord wants to heal us, we will receive what we believe.
Matthew 9:27-30 When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” And their eyes were opened.
The Lord does unto me according to my faith. My faith allows the Lord to work healing, restore my eyesight and all the functions of my body that are not performing right, and make me whole again in every way.
52. When we are close to Jesus, we think of all that is good, pure, and true. By doing so, we do not focus on the pain and bad things, so sickness will become secondary, our faith for healing will increase and as a result, our health will be restored. When we stop focusing on sickness and the negative, the power of the enemy to harm us decreases and we allow the Holy Spirit to heal and restore us.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things.
Thank You Lord that because I choose to think only about what is true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, good deeds and whatever is praiseworthy, I will keep my mind and heart pure and I will receive the healing and restoration of my body, in the Name of Jesus, amen.
53. Because we know that God hears our prayers when we pray according to His will, we can be sure that we will receive whatever we are praying for, including our healing.
Matthew 6:10 “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
1 John 5:14-15 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
In heaven, there is no sickness, and I ask for God's kingdom to come and for His will to be done in me. It is God's will for us to be healed and because nothing can stop God's will, and I know that He hears me whenever I pray according to His will, I know that the sickness must go, and I have my healing.
54. Because Jesus healed all the sick, I can also pray to be healed in His Name.
John 14:12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.”
Jesus Christ healed all the sick that came to Him, and He said that those who believe in Him will do the works that He did and even greater works, because He sits at the right hand of the Father and through the Holy Spirit, He is living in me also. So, I am also healed by my faith in Jesus Christ.
55. Obedience to the Lord is followed by blessings and victory over all enemies, including sickness.
Deuteronomy 28:1-2,7 “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God... The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.”
If I obey God's voice and I carefully observe all His commands, the Lord will exalt me. All the blessings will overtake me because I am obeying God's voice. The Lord God has already taken care of all that is needed to defeat my enemies (including sickness) and they have no more power against me, and that assures me that I will be healed.
56. The Lord wants us to glorify Him for all that He does for us, including for healing our sicknesses.
Psalms 118:17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.
Thank You Lord that I can say as the psalmist did, that I shall not die, but live.Sickness cannot defeat me, it is just an opportunity to glorify You for healing me, in the Name of Jesus, amen.
57. If we live right for the Lord, even in our old age we can be fresh, healthy and flourish.
Psalms 92:12-14The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing...
Because I truly desire to live a pure life that pleases God, sickness cannot defeat me. Even in my old age I will have God's strength and I will live a healthy, fruitful life, being able to work and take care of myself all the days of my life.
58. The Lord fights for us, including against sickness.
Deuteronomy 3:22 “You must not fear them, for the Lord your God Himself fights for you.”
I am not afraid of any sickness or any attack of the enemy because the Lord God fights for me, and this means that my victory is secure in the Lord.
59. The “agape love” with which God loves us, transforms us so that we might receive all His blessings and be healthy.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8a Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Lord, please help me to be long-suffering and kind; not to envy; not to boast, not to be puffed up with pride, not to behave rudely, not to seek my own advantage, not to be angry, not to think evil, not to rejoice in iniquity, but to rejoice in the truth, to bear, believe, hope, and endure all things. Thank You that through Your love I will be totally transformed, healed, and never perish but live forever in heaven. In the Name of Jesus, amen.
60. If we obey Jesus, we receive eternal life and are permanently in His hand. We may not always know what is happening in the spiritual realm and why the answers to our prayers are not immediate, including those for healing, but one thing is certain, those of us who have Jesus as Lord, are His sheep, we hear His voice, and as long as we want to be His, no one can snatch us from His hand, nor from the heavenly Father’s hand.
John 10:27-29 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand."
Jesus is my Shepherd, and I know and listen to His voice and follow Him wherever He leads me. Jesus gives me eternal life, I will never perish and no one and no thing will never snatch me from His hand nor from my heavenly Father’s hand, not even sickness. In Jesus I have healing and true life.
Whether we receive a healing miracle by prayer, or we are healed with the help of doctors and medicine, God is worthy of all our praise for making us whole again. Without His help, no pill, procedure, or treatment could restore us. Many doctors admit that no matter how much they try, they still cannot be sure of the final result without God's help. We have all heard of many cases when medicine and science have failed and people have died, while others were healed with the same treatment.
By proclaiming the promises that God has given us in the Bible, our faith is strengthened, and we learn to better identify the lies of the enemy who tries to make us doubt God's power and believe that we do not deserve to receive anything good from God or to be healed. We have the “sword of the Spirit” which is the “Word of God” to use against the attacks of the enemy and be victorious.
In conclusion, when we feel any symptoms of sickness, we need to come in prayer to the mercy seat of God and by proclaiming what the Bible says, we ask the Lord to heal us in the Name of Jesus. Sometimes we can receive the miracle of healing instantly, other times it is a process, and we will continue to believe until the end. Other times, God may lead us to medicine or doctors. Then we pray that God will lead the doctors to do what is best for us, bless the treatment to lead to healing without side effects and anything else the Holy Spirit leads us to pray for. If we know that the Lord's will is to heal us and that the Lord Jesus bore in His body on the cross every sickness, and by His wounds we were healed, we can handle any healing process way better. Glory to the Lord Jesus for all the suffering and torment He endured in our place, paying for our sins and healing every disease.
