ALL THE BIBLE IS INSPIRED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT TO TEACH US HOW TO LIVE FOR THE LORD
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. - 2 Timothy 3:16-17
What is the Scripture? It is a library of 66 books, written through 40 authors. God influenced the authors of the books in such a way that they recorded what God spoke to them through the Holy Spirit. All these books were written over a period of approximately 1500 years, and only if all authors were inspired by the Holy Spirit in their writings, this could there be such a harmonious and true book. The historical events, God’s character and will, what the Lord expects from His children, all future prophecies are 100% true and they do not contradict each other! All prophecies that should take place, were fulfilled and there is no other book with such content in this world! There is so much to say on this subject, but here is not the place for it.
So, we know that because it is God’s inspired Word, we can trust the Bible and obey it. All throughout history, we have numerous examples of people who obeyed God, were miraculously used by Him and lived blessed lives. It is truly a profitable doctrine, that shows us what we do wrong and what we still need to change in ourselves, teaching us how to be in right standing with God.
By studying and meditating on God’s Word we can become complete and fully equipped to be able to do what God called us to do and live a blessed life. The more we meditate on God’s Word and spend time in His presence, the more we change and the happier we are!
GOD’S WORD HAS CREATIVE POWER
“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” - Isaiah 55:11
Everything that God speaks has creative power. In the beginning He spoke the whole universe into existence. In Genesis 1, we read many times that “God said... and it was so.” But when He created man, He used His hands. “God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath or spirit of life, and man became a living being” (Genesis 2:7). Then He used Adam’s rib to form Eve. From the beginning, God treated mankind special, as the crown of His creation.
Words have creative power for good or bad. It is greatly beneficial to learn to use our words for good, as God does. When God speaks a blessing over us, it comes into fruition. When we speak what God’s Word says over a situation that we are in, we allow it to come to pass. We are to learn to see the positive in every matter, focus on it and speak it! God says that none of His words are in vain and will always accomplish whatever the purpose He sends them for. Glory to God!
What we speak is the result of what we think. To be able to change the way we speak, we need to change the way we think. It sure helps to pray as David did: “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my [firm, impenetrable] Rock and my Redeemer” (Psalm 19:14, AMP Classic edition)
HOW TO BE FILLED WITH GOD’S WORD
Let the word [spoken by] Christ (the Messiah) have its home [in your hearts and minds] and dwell in you in [all its] richness, as you teach and admonish and train one another in all insight and intelligence and wisdom [in spiritual things, and as you sing] psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to God with [His] grace in your hearts. - Colossians 3:16 (AMP)
For God’s Word to permeate every aspect of our lives, we must read and meditate on it, asking the Holy Spirit to teach us how to apply it in our everyday lives.
Throughout our walk with Jesus, we are go through different stages. There are seasons when we are full of passion for studying God’s Word and to know our Lord more, so we use every possible chance we have for this purpose. But we can lose our fire for the Lord sometimes, when we go through a lot of problems and hard times or even when things go extremely well.
It is important that as soon as we realize that we started lacking in our hunger for the Word of God, to start asking God to give us a fresh desire for being in His presence and to be back in His Word. In 1 John 5:14, the apostle John encourages us to pray, with "Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us." We can learn what God’s will is, only by studying His Word.
In order to help those going through difficulties or who are not on the "right path" with Jesus, we need "the wisdom that is from above" (James 3:17) that we also receive through meditating on God’s Word. If we choose to have a constant attitude of gratitude and thanksgiving, and to continue to renew our minds through the Word of God, not only will we be happier, but we can help those around us more, too.
GOD’S WORD ILLUMINATES OUR STEPS
Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. - Psalms 119:105
The Word of God is the standard that we should follow in everything we think, say and do. It shows us the right way of handling everything. No matter how much progress there is in science, knowledge, and technology, the basic problems that all people have faced throughout history, are about the same. We all need food, love, education, sources of income, and also rest. But more than anything, every human being is in search of something bigger and stronger than himself to trust in.
God created us to have fellowship with Him, and after Adam and Eve sinned, all of their descendants were born with a whole in their heart, which only God can truly fill. Anything else that fills it, only seems to, because the real problem, is spiritual death. Only Jesus brings us back to life, only through Him our spirits can be born-again, making us true temples of the Holy Spirit. From the beginning, God created all that mankind needs until the end of the world. Through Jesus, we return to the "Father-son" relationship with God, and by studying the Word we learn how to live right and benefit from all that the Lord has prepared for us.
By studying the Bible, with the revelation of the Holy Spirit, we find all the light and wisdom we need to live purely for the Lord, and in the end, we’ll spend eternity with Him in heaven.
