We know that the Holy Spirit is part of the triune person of God. Unfortunately, many are considering God, the Holy Spirit less important than God, the Father and God, the Son. Let's take a deep look the position, personality, purpose and power of God, the Holy Spirit; who He really is and what He does.
All Three are One and all are One of Three.
1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.
All Three are equal, eternal, unlimited, uncreated and Almighty. Each have different responsibilities and coexist in perfect unity. All three are as One Person, One God Almighty, without any conflicting division and each in His own essence.
Each One of the Three have certain positions and functions.
God the Father is the source of life and of all good, Jesus Christ is the intercessor between us and Father God. In His Name of Jesus, we ask and receive from the Father and Holy Spirit is fulfilling and bringing into being what we pray for.
God the Holy Spirit in us.
The Holy Spirit is the Comforter which means that he is Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby. He also inspires us to become creative and He is God dwelling in us. All His authority, power, comfort and help are here for us, non-stop; all we have to do is to ask for His help. The Holy Spirit does not force us to receive what He has to offer; He is a perfect gentleman. He is a person who has feelings and emotions, that can be grieved (Ephesians 4:30 "And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God...”); When we are truthful or not to God, we are truthful or not to the Holy Spirit. Peter showed how Ananias lied to the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3 "But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit...”).
In times of sorrow and despair, the Holy Spirit can bring about a much faster remedy if we but call on the Lord and asking Him to comfort and heal us. No one can heal a "wounded heart" like the Holy Spirit. No one else knows us better and no one else has His authority and power in the spiritual world, to set us free, heal and restore us. The Holy Spirit is the supreme comforter.
When Jesus came, everything changed for mankind.
In Old Testament times, the earthly dwelling place of God was in the section of the temple called the Holy of Holies or Most Holy Place. Once Jesus came and was crucified for our sins, raised from the dead and ascended to Heaven, God came by sending us “the Holy Spirit.” When a person becomes a true, born again Christian, they become the true embodiment and temple of God, the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 3:16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
1 Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
John 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.”
There is no way this article can cover all of whom the Holy Spirit really is or all He does; however listed here are 25 key points about God Holy Spirit.

John 16:7-8 "Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment”
Jesus was telling the disciples that unless He left, the Holy Spirit could not come. He wanted them to eventually realize that without His sacrifice, resurrection and return to Heaven to sit at right side of the Father, that the Holy Spirit would not be able to come and accomplish the greater work. It is a miracle that the born again person (one who repents of their sins and believes on Jesus to be their Lord and savior) becomes the temple of the Holy Spirit. At the time, Jesus was with them, but He would send the Holy Spirit will come to be in them and to be with them always.
3. God, the Holy Spirit is omnipresent and He can dwell in an unlimited number of believers at the same time. He is not limited by a physical body, as Jesus was when He came! Only those born again, can receive Him and become living temples of God.
John 14:15-18 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper (in original, in the Greek language: “helper” was Parakletos = Helper, Counselor, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener) that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”

5. By the Holy Spirit, the body of Christ grows individually and corporately; in spiritual growth and in numbers of believers.
Acts 9:31 Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.
6. God, the Holy Spirit teaches us how to defend ourselves and what to say in the difficult situations.

The Greek term, ”dunamis” is used 121 times in the New Testament to express the power of the Holy Spirit. ”Dunamis” means strength power, ability, inherent power, power residing in a thing by virtue of its nature, power for performing miracles, moral power and excellence of soul, power consisting in or resting upon armies, forces, hosts. And this kind of power indwells and equips a Christian to bring others to salvation. People are not going to come to Jesus because we speak beautiful, passionate words or lots of words just right. Only the anointing of the Holy Spirit working through us when we minister salvation to others can convict people their sins and help them realize their need for a Savior.

But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.
9. The gift of the Holy Spirit is received by those who desire Him. More of Him is available for those who are searching and hungry for Him after they have repented and are obeying His will.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 5:32 And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.
Sometimes, people do not realize there is more available after salvation. And of those who do, then then many of those who experience the presence of the Holy Spirit, still do not go further. For those who are searching to receive more, who take time to seek the Lord and soak in His presence; these are the ones who receive the gifts that operate through Holy Spirit. Everyone is given the opportunity to live a more intimate relationship with Jesus Christ and experience His gifts. The Apostle Paul has urged us to desire the gifts of the Holy Spirit, in
1 Corinthians 14, verses: 1 ... desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy... 5 ... I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied... 12 Even so you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, let it be for the edification of the church that you seek to excel. 39 Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues.

What happens when God, the Holy Spirit is rejected?
The blasphemy against Holy Spirit starts with fighting against the conviction that He brings in the heart of the sinner. No one can receive the forgiveness of sins and inherit eternal life, if they do not accept the truth as revealed by Holy Spirit; we must to repent and obey. God does not force anyone to receive salvation. He created man with free will to have the freedom to choose.
